Mixer Vortex for tubes with "touch" and continue control speed.

The MIX ARGOlab Vortex Mixer is a compact, high-performance solution for rapid and efficient mixing of test tube samples.

Suitable for both touch and continuous operation, it features adjustable speed control from 0 to 2,500 rpm, allowing precise agitation for a wide range of laboratory protocols.

Built with a rugged body, steel base, and silicone feet, the mixer provides excellent stability, even at high speeds.

An eccentric, oil-free motor ensures reliable orbital motion with minimal maintenance, making it ideal for laboratories that demand robustness and consistency in mixing performance.

Application in Allergen Testing

This vortex mixer can be used to thoroughly agitate food samples and extraction solutions, ensuring the efficient release of analytes such as allergens and residues into the liquid phase. It is employed at two critical stages of the testing protocol:

1. Initial Mixing (Post-Extraction Solution Addition): After adding the extraction solution to the homogenised sample, the tube is vortexed for 30 seconds to ensure full interaction between the sample and the buffer.

2. Secondary Mixing (Post-Heating and Cooling): Following thermal denaturation and cooling, vortexing is repeated for 30 seconds to re-suspend settled particles and ensure a homogenous extract for analysis.

Purpose in the Testing Procedure

  • Ensures thorough mixing of the sample and extraction buffer for effective protein release.
  • Redisperses particles post-heating to maintain sample consistency.

Role in Allergen Testing

  • Delivers uniform extraction of allergenic proteins from solid or surface samples.
  • Improves test accuracy and repeatability by preventing false negatives caused by inadequate mixing.
