Andrew has been running Andrew’s of Hadleigh for more than 20 years. Behind the counter is a dedicated team of 12 people, who use at least 7 fridges/freezers of varying sizes to cover every application you can imagine – from hanging carcasses to storing pies ready for sale.

Application
The team is always extremely busy, and Andrew had been concerned for a while about the adequate monitoring of temperatures in his fridges and freezers during peak times. His team is thorough, and their diligence was never in question, but manual temperature checks at the correct times were proving increasingly impractical. Andrew needed a solution that would give him peace of mind without burdening his team with extra work.Andrew needed a system that would alert him during the busy working day should a 'problem' arise. He also needed to be able to check his cold stores and chillers out of hours, whilst reducing the number of manual checks required. -
Why SenseAnywhere?
As Andrew admits, butchery is his forte but IT not so much! He needed a temperature monitoring system that was reliable and got the job done, yet was also simple to set up and easy to manage moving forward.
Having considered his options, Andrew chose SenseAnywhere from Klipspringer as a simple and versatile wireless system.Because of the simplicity of the reporting and alarm notification package Andrew felt confident he could master SenseAnywhere. In addition, the small sensors had the benefit of being unobtrusive in his retail displays, so as to not impact the customer experience. In particular, Andrew appreciated the support offered by the Klipspringer Support Team in getting his system with 12 sensors up and running quickly and efficiently. -
SenseAnywhere Saved Andrew
Within weeks of installing his new SenseAnywhere system, Andrew received an email alarm notification at 10pm on a Saturday evening. Andrew immediately logged into the Cloud to check up on the fridge in question - records showed air temperature had crept up to 9˚C over a number of hours. With more than £3,000 worth of stock in the fridge, Andrew immediately attended site and found the fridge was switched off! Had it remained like this all weekend, all stock would have had to be discarded – a costly mistake. On investigation, Andrew found a junior had switched the fridge off during cleaning earlier that day. Unfortunately, it had not been switched back on and Andrew and his diligent manager had both failed to pick this up with their normal closure checks.Because of the SenseAnywhere system Andrew managed to turn the fridge back on in time and didn't suffer from any stock losses. The small initial outlay quickly proved it's worth and paid for itself!
